Delete your Scanly account

Effective date: 9 September 2026

You can permanently delete your Scanly account and the personal data held with it. This page explains how, and exactly what is erased.

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

  1. Open Scanly and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm. Your account is erased and you are signed out straight away.

Or ask us to delete it

If you no longer have the app installed, email salahdmitry@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, asking for your account to be deleted. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request, and we will confirm by email once it is done.

Requests are actioned within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your Scanly account itself — your email address, password, and any linked Google sign-in.
  • Your account identifier and every record we hold against it: plan and subscription state, monthly and daily quota counters, rate-limit and reservation records, rewarded-ad grants, and usage events.
  • Cached AI results, stored Designer prompts, generated document source and photos, Designer usage counters, and license activation and recovery records associated with your account.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Signing up again later creates a new, empty account.

What is not deleted, and why

  • Scans on your device. Account deletion does not erase local scan history, images, or exported files. Uninstalling Scanly or clearing its app storage removes app-private copies. Files exported to Downloads or other locations must be deleted separately.
  • Billing records. Invoices and subscription records held by Paddle, our merchant of record, are kept for the period tax and accounting law requires. These are keyed to the purchase, not to your Scanly account.
  • An active Pro subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription or stop it renewing. Cancel it first — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Cloud document retention

Completed AI results can be cached for a 24-hour retention window. Designer prompts, generated source, and included photos have a seven-day retention window, followed by scheduled cleanup. Deleting your account also deletes these account-associated records from Scanly's database. See the Privacy Policy for providers, data flows, and retention details.
